Life Without A Resume
In America and most parts of the world, that would be the equivalent of saying,
Life without a currency.
Yet if you think about it, even the credit cards will end their ad with, Priceless!!
The money does not make the experience more valuable or meaningful, it just enables the experience to happen. The resume does not make your life experience any more valuable or meaningful, it just enables the opportunity to write your story happen. You need currency to exchange goods and you need a resume to ensure you get your hands on some currency. This is how humanity rolls and we have been rolling for a while.
Yet as we roll through life it appears that we have become lopsided. We exude our energy and life into our resumes, and our stories seem to become smaller by the day. Sometimes squashed into obsoletion. "Some people die at 25 and are not buried till 75" - Benjamin Franklin.
We as humanity have needed to adapt and legally ensure that everyone works on their resumes as soon as they are able to. We need our resumes, yet I believe firmly, that behind every resume there is a story.
We have lost sight of the fact our resumes are only here to enable the opportunities to write our stories. We have forgotten how to talk about our stories, we have forgotten how to write them. We have stumbled into the hazy stage of life, where our resumes create our words, and our stories lay dormant.
Our stories need to be told. Our children need to have day life heroes. We need day life heroes. Life narrates all seasons and scenes of drama, comedy, action and horror.
How are we writing our parts in these stories? What does our pages entail, once we have passed the resume entry?
Life without a resume, are the words of our stories that long to have their voices, value and stage back.
So let us write, let us capture with words our stories as we are busy writing them with our days. Let us use our resumes and our currency to fill our pages as we live and write a great story. Let us share our words, as we embrace our lives without a resume.
